
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday honoured Nigeria’s Super Falcons for clinching their 10th African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) title in Morocco, rewarding each player with a generous cash gift, national honours, and housing.
Receiving the victorious team and their technical crew at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja, President Tinubu announced a Naira-equivalent cash reward of $100,000, a three-bedroom apartment, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) for each player.

He commended the team for their historic triumph, describing it as a symbol of Nigeria’s resilience, unity, and growing strength in women’s football.
In further recognition of their achievement, the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, also announced a donation of N10 million to each of the players on behalf of the 36 state governors.
The celebration marked a moment of national pride and appreciation for the Super Falcons, who continue to set the pace for women’s football in Africa.
