The visit comes against the backdrop of ongoing political realignments within the Kano chapter of the APC. Just today, party stakeholders held a strategic meeting in the state, where they unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027 and reaffirmed Dr. Ganduje as the undisputed leader of the party in Kano.
Hon. Rurum, a former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly during Ganduje’s tenure as governor, is regarded as one of the loyal allies of the former governor and a key figure in the party’s current mobilization efforts.
The high-level visit in London is seen as part of broader consultations and alliance-building as the APC positions itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
