NARD Suspends Planned January 12 Strike

The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its plan to commence a nationwide strike earlier scheduled for January 12.

The suspension was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Secretary-General of the association, Shuaibu Ibrahim.

NARD had earlier declared the strike following an update issued after its Emergency National Executive Council (E-NEC) meeting held on January 2, citing unresolved demands with the Federal Government.

According to the association, the planned industrial action was intended to press home its demands and draw the government’s attention to issues affecting the welfare and working conditions of resident doctors.
