Maituraka donates borehole, inverter to Katsina community mosque

A philanthropist,Alhaji Abdul’aziz Maituraka, has donated a borehole to a community Mosque in Daki Tara, Kwanar Damaga, Kofar Kaura Quarters, Katsina.

Maituraka, the Special Assistant to the Deputy President of the Senate, also donated an inverter to supply power to the mosque.

Speaking during the donation on Sunday, Maituraka, a chieftain of the All-Progressives Congress (APC), commended the members of the mosque committee for their commitment and dedication to modernising it.

According to him, his door is always open for any support that will promote Islam and move the community and state forward.

He further called on Islamic knowledge seekers (Almajirai) to stand on their feet, steer clear from street begging to become self-reliant.

“I also started as an Almajiri,” he said.

Maituraka, however, said it was necessary for them (Almajiris) to be self-reliant, in addition to their knowledge seeking, so that they can assist others.

Maituraka also called on the leadership of the mosque to allow the residents of the community to fetch water from the borehole.

The philanthropist seized the opportunity to thank friends, family members and all well-wishers for blessing the wedding of his daughter which took place on Saturday.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Katsina Local Government Area (LGA), Alhaji Isah Miqdad, commended Maituraka for sinking the borehole, saying that it would improve water supply in the area.

Miqdad also promised to provide additional ceiling fans and other forms of support to the residents of the community.

In response, the chairman of the mosque committee, Sheikh Hadi Balarabe, commended Maituraka for the support, calling on other wealthy individuals to support the religion as a multiplying reward. (Sadaqatul Jariya).
