The Kano State Police Command has recovered a stolen white Toyota Hilux vehicle attached to the Governor’s Advance Team, which was reported missing at the Government House on November 11, 2025.
This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis. The statement commended the prompt report made by officials of the Government House and reassured the public of the Command’s commitment to diligent investigation and ensuring justice is served.
Following sustained intelligence-led investigations, the suspect, Ya’u Inuwa, a 50-year-old driver in the Government House, was arrested in connection with the theft. The vehicle was recovered at Unguwa Uku, Yan Awaki Quarters, Kano, and is currently in police custody.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to conspiring with two other individuals, who are currently at large. The Command has intensified efforts to arrest the remaining suspects.
