The Kano State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to fully enforce the ban on commercial motorcycle operations and the restriction on commercial tricycles between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am in designated parts of the state.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
According to the statement, the enforcement—earlier announced by the Kano State Government—remains active and operational across nine Local Government Areas, including Kano Municipal, Gwale, Dala, Fagge, Nassarawa, Tarauni, Kumbotso, as well as specific areas of Ungogo (Jido) and Dawakin Kudu (Tambuwal, Gurjiya and Jido wards).
The Command noted that the measures are designed to enhance public safety, curb criminal activities, and prevent the spread of unverified information capable of triggering fear or unnecessary tension among residents.

The Police warned that individuals or operators who flout the directives risk immediate arrest and prosecution.
“Any person found operating motorcycles or tricycles in contravention of the ban or restriction will be promptly arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
The Commissioner of Police called on residents to comply with the regulations and support security agencies in maintaining peace and order across the state. The enforcement exercise, which is being carried out in collaboration with other security outfits including the Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA), will continue to ensure full compliance for the overall safety and protection of citizens.
