The Kano State Police Command has decorated 13 senior officers with higher ranks following their recent promotion approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The decoration ceremony was held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Kano and was attended by senior officers of the Command.
Those promoted include one Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), four Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), seven Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), and one Superintendent of Police (SP).
Among the promoted officers is DCP Muhammad Nuhu Digi, who was elevated from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Also promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police are Musa Akawu, Ahmed Abdullahi, Abdullahi Usman, and Saleh Buba, all from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police.

Seven other officers were promoted to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, while one officer was elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, congratulated the officers on their promotions and commended them for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to duty.
CP Bakori urged the newly promoted officers to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and selfless service as they assume higher responsibilities in their new ranks.
He disclosed that the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
The Commissioner of Police also praised the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police for ongoing reforms and welfare initiatives within the Force, as well as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Kano, for his guidance and support.
The Kano State Police Command congratulated the promoted officers and expressed confidence in their continued contribution to effective policing and public safety in the state.
