The Kano State Government has congratulated QS Dr Aminu M. Bashir on his emergence and investiture as the 28th President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).
Dr Bashir, who becomes the first Kano indigene to lead the prestigious national professional body, was described by the state government as a symbol of pride and inspiration to the people of Kano State.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government said Dr Bashir’s elevation reflects his professionalism, dedication, and significant contributions to the growth of the quantity surveying profession in Nigeria.

The investiture ceremony, held over the weekend in Abuja, attracted a distinguished gathering of professionals from various engineering and allied fields, as well as representatives of government institutions and corporate organisations.
The state government noted that Dr Bashir brings decades of experience to the leadership of the NIQS, adding that he has earned a reputation for integrity, excellence, mentorship and consistent community service.
It expressed confidence that his tenure will usher in innovation, purposeful leadership and renewed vigour that will propel the institute to greater heights.
While urging him to uphold the values of professionalism and patriotism, the state government reiterated its commitment to supporting indigenes of Kano State in attaining the highest levels of professional accomplishment.
