Kano Govt Announces School Resumption Dates for 2025/2026 Academic Session

The Kano State Government has announced the official resumption dates for primary and post-primary schools for the 2025/2026 academic session.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry of Education, Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru.

According to the statement, boarding schools across the state will resume on Sunday, September 7, 2025, while day schools are to resume on Monday, September 8, 2025.

Parents and guardians were urged to take note of the resumption schedule to ensure full compliance. The ministry also warned that students and pupils who fail to comply with the directive would face disciplinary measures.

The statement further quoted the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, as congratulating teachers, students, and pupils on the start of the new academic session and wishing them success.

“I want to use this medium to reemphasize the Ministry’s commitment to routine monitoring exercises to ensure staff punctuality and efficiency,” Dr. Makoda said.
