Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, while also restating their firm allegiance to the party’s leader in the state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The endorsement was made during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday at Dr. Ganduje’s residence in Kano, where discussions focused on party unity, electoral preparedness, and ongoing developmental efforts by the Tinubu administration, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
Kano State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, who addressed participants, said the meeting was convened to strengthen internal cohesion, resolve lingering issues, and reposition the party ahead of the next general elections.

“Our focus is clear, to consolidate our base, promote unity, and ensure a resounding APC victory in 2027. We are fully behind President Tinubu and committed to sustaining the party’s dominance in Kano and beyond,” Abbas stated.
He emphasized the party’s readiness to welcome defectors from opposition camps, particularly members of the Kwankwasiyya movement, should they choose to return. However, he warned that the APC would not hesitate to confront the opposition politically if they remain outside the ruling party.
“If they decide to join us, we will gladly receive them. But if they remain in opposition, we are prepared to engage them politically at the polls,” Abbas said.
The meeting also addressed ongoing federal government projects in the region, with stakeholders dismissing allegations of regional marginalization. They commended President Tinubu for his inclusive approach to governance and the significant federal presence in Kano and other parts of the North.

Prominent party figures in attendance included former APC gubernatorial candidate Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, Senator Kawu Sumaila, House of Representatives members Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Abubakar Kabir Bichi, and Sani Bala Tsanyawa, as well as federal appointees, state lawmakers, and senior party executives.
The stakeholders jointly pledged to intensify grassroots mobilization and strategic engagement in preparation for the 2027 elections, vowing to secure victory for the APC at both state and national levels.
