The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has embarked on an operational tour of border communities in Shanono and Tsanyawa Local Government Areas, following recent security concerns linked to migrating bandits.
The visit, conducted in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, was aimed at assessing deployments, strengthening border security, and boosting the morale of personnel stationed in vulnerable communities.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the tour comes amid reported cases of abduction and cattle rustling in the axis.

During the assessment, CP Bakori inspected officers, equipment, and operational formations under the Joint Task Force (JTF), commending their dedication while urging heightened vigilance.
“We remain committed to protecting the people of Kano State. We encourage residents to report suspicious activities and continue cooperating with security agencies to combat crime,” he said.
The Police Commissioner also expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government, local government chairmen, and community stakeholders for their cooperation and support toward sustaining peace in the region.
He emphasised that their prayers, timely intelligence sharing, and community involvement remain vital to the Command’s success.
The Kano State Police Command reiterated its resolve to stay ahead of emerging threats, assuring residents of continued efforts to secure all border communities and the state at large.
