
The motorcade departed from Katsina Airport shortly after the arrival of Buhari’s remains aboard a presidential jet, which touched down around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was present at the tarmac to receive the body, alongside top government officials. The remains of the late president were flown from London, where he passed away on Sunday at the age of 82 while undergoing treatment at a private clinic.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and members of the Buhari family accompanied the body back to Nigeria.
The late former leader is to be laid to rest later today at his residence in Daura, in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
