
Armed men suspected to be bandits have abducted the traditional ruler of Bauda, a village in the Maro community under Kufana Chiefdom, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The abduction occurred at about 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, when the attackers stormed the community and seized the village head, Mr. Obadiah Iguda. He was taken away without resistance, while no other individuals were harmed, and no property was reported stolen.
The incident was confirmed in a formal report presented to the Agom Kufana by the District Overseer, Mr. Stephen Maikori.

“This senseless act of violence has further deepened the atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the residents of Bauda and its surrounding communities,” Maikori wrote in his letter to the traditional ruler.
The kidnapping has disrupted the traditional leadership structure in Bauda and raised renewed concerns over the escalating insecurity in Kajuru and nearby areas.
Authorities in Kufana District have called on security agencies to intensify operations and provide sustained protection for lives and property across the region.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, said he would verify the incident. As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued.
