
The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commission as officers.
In a statement issued by the Army, the DSSC programme is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements. Successful candidates will be commissioned into selected professional corps of the Nigerian Army.
The corps available for the current intake include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.
The Army clarified that the application process is free of charge and will be conducted strictly online. Interested applicants are expected to submit their applications between January 7 and February 4, 2026, via the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal.

The Nigerian Army urged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity, while cautioning applicants to beware of fraudsters, stressing that the DSSC application process does not attract any form of payment.
