The Executive Director of the Arewa Health Promotion Initiative, Adamu Ahmad Ibrahim, has reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to reducing the number of out-of-school children by supporting parents and ensuring young children return to the classroom.
He made the pledge at Brigade Primary School during an outreach programme where 300 children were newly enrolled into school and provided with school uniforms, learning materials and teaching aids to ease the financial burden on their parents.
The project, tagged “Girma da Ilimi” (Growth Through Education), is designed to invest in children for a more sustainable and prosperous future. Adamu said the initiative will play a vital role in curbing social vices, reducing insecurity and promoting community development.
“Education helps children understand themselves, shapes behaviour and reduces societal challenges,” he said. “We call on philanthropists and well-meaning individuals to support similar interventions to build a peaceful society free from crises. Even communicable diseases can be reduced when people are better informed.”

He noted that the Arewa Health Promotion Initiative aligns its activities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly good health and well-being, quality education, clean water and sanitation, climate action and partnerships for sustainable development—key areas he believes are crucial to shaping society.
Speaking earlier, Malam Sagir Muhammad Mudi, Assistant Imam of Tudun Wada Mosque in Nassarawa Local Government Area, urged parents to prioritise their children’s education, describing it as the backbone of a successful and responsible society.
He stressed that education and essential life skills remain fundamental to youth empowerment and peaceful coexistence.
In their separate remarks, two beneficiaries, Malama Binta Lawal Jibrin and caregiver Malama Hassana, expressed appreciation for the initiative and prayed for its continued growth, describing it as a timely intervention that supports families and strengthens community development.
