The Kano Development Forum has commended the Kano State Government for what it described as a bold and responsible decision aimed at ensuring a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Fitr celebration in the state.
In a statement signed by its State Coordinator, Dr. Tanimu Adam Ibrahim, the group praised the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for prioritising public safety while preserving the cultural heritage of the people.
The forum noted that striking a balance between tradition and security demonstrates commendable leadership, especially in a period marked by heightened tensions.

KDF also acknowledged the conduct of the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, describing his response to the arrangements as mature and law-abiding.
According to the group, Bayero’s disposition reflects civic responsibility and sets a positive example for others to emulate.
The forum, however, called on residents of Kano State to celebrate the Sallah festivities peacefully, cooperate with security agencies, and avoid any actions capable of disrupting public order.
It reiterated the need for unity, tolerance, and collective responsibility in sustaining peace across the state.
