Support APC Move or Face Sack, Kano Governor Warns Commissioners, Appointees

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has warned that any commissioner in the state cabinet who attempts to undermine the administration following the political shift to the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be removed from office.

The governor made the remark during the Kano State Executive Council meeting held on Thursday, which he presided over at the Government House.

The meeting brought together members of the State Executive Council, including commissioners and other top government officials, to deliberate on key administrative and policy matters affecting the state.

Governor Yusuf emphasised the need for unity, loyalty and commitment among members of the cabinet, noting that the government would not tolerate any act capable of obstructing its political direction or governance agenda.

According to him, commissioners and other political appointees must align fully with the administration’s decisions and work collectively to ensure effective governance and service delivery to the people of Kano State.

The council meeting came after about 55 days without a sitting of the State Executive Council.

Reports indicate that the last meeting of the council was held on January 16, 2026, at the Kano State Government Lodge in Abuja, after which the council had not reconvened until Thursday’s session.
