
The Kano State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against the Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.
At a special plenary session held on Thursday, the House served the deputy governor with a notice to respond to allegations said to constitute impeachable offences.
The notice, which was read during plenary, contains allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office, and breach of public trust.

The House Majority Leader, Lawan Husaini, who addressed journalists after the session, confirmed the development, stating that he formally presented the impeachment notice before the House.
According to him, the notice was signed by 38 members of the Assembly.
He added that following the service of the notice, the deputy governor is expected to respond to the allegations within two weeks, in line with constitutional provisions.
