Tinubu Hosts North East’s Only PDP Governor

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday held a closed-door meeting with Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Sources indicated that the governor was at the State House to brief the President on the security situation in Bauchi State, particularly recent disturbances reported in parts of the state.

It was gathered that Governor Mohammed updated the President on the activities of bandits in Alkaleri Local Government Area, describing the situation as requiring urgent attention.

Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, the Bauchi governor also addressed developments in the political arena, especially the recent wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Mohammed said individuals have the constitutional right to associate with any political party of their choice but reiterated his decision to remain in the opposition party.

Details of the outcome of the meeting were not immediately disclosed at the time of filing this report.
