The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned the Federal Government’s approval of a $9m contract for lobbying services in the US, calling it “scandalous” and “a reflection of misplaced priorities”.
The party says the move shows the government’s focus on polishing its image abroad rather than addressing Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and economic hardship.
“The Tinubu administration is more concerned with its international image than the plight of Nigerians,” ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, said.

The ADC argues the money could be better spent on protecting lives and easing citizen suffering, especially with thousands killed by insecurity and millions struggling to afford basics.
The party also criticizes the government’s attempt to frame the lobbying effort around “Christian protection”, warning it could worsen sectarian tensions.
