Kano Hisbah Receives Over 12,000 Complaints, Resolves 1,908 Cases in 2025

The Kano State Hisbah Board received a total of 12,446 complaints and successfully resolved 1,908 cases across its headquarters and the 44 local government offices in the state during the year 2025.

The board also conducted nine major enforcement raids, leading to the arrest of 132 suspects at different locations within and outside the Kano metropolis.

The Acting Commander of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, disclosed this in a statistical report made available to newsmen on Friday.

According to the report, the board recorded 93,231 visits to its offices during the year.

These visits were made for official engagements, submission of complaints, provision of information and other matters related to the board’s operations.

Dr. Aminuddeen said the Hisbah Board handled 4,246 major offences at its headquarters and local government offices.

He explained that nearly all the cases were transferred to the Kano State Police Command or other relevant agencies for further investigation and appropriate action.

The report also revealed that the board recovered a total sum of N145,406,409, most of which belonged to individuals in cases involving family maintenance, debts and other financial disputes. He noted that the recovered funds had been returned to their rightful owners in accordance with Islamic principles.

Dr. Aminuddeen urged government institutions, organisations, community leaders and members of the public to continue working closely with the Hisbah Board to promote moral values, discourage social vices and encourage good conduct across Kano State.
