Quintuplets Delivered in Kano as Govt Takes Over Medical Care

A Kano woman, Hafsatu Yusuf, has successfully delivered quintuplets at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, with the state government stepping in to cover their medical care.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Health, Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa.

According to the statement, the mother gave birth to five babies, three boys and two girls and both she and the newborns are currently receiving specialized medical attention from healthcare professionals at the facility.

The husband, Salisu Nufi’u, expressed gratitude to the state government for the timely intervention, describing the support as crucial to his family at a critical moment.

The Kano State Government said the gesture forms part of its broader commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector, particularly in improving maternal and child health services.

It reiterated its resolve to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates while ensuring access to quality healthcare, especially for vulnerable residents across the state.
