
Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, a renowned businessman and respected community leader in Kano State, has passed away after a brief illness. He was 76 years old.
Born in 1950 at Adakawa Quarters in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, the late Alhaji Abdulaziz rose to prominence as a key figure in Kano’s business and commercial community. He was widely known for his leadership roles across several traders’ associations and business groups within and beyond the state.
He gained notable recognition through his leadership of the Kantin Kwari Market Traders Association, where he consistently advocated for the rights and welfare of traders, while contributing significantly to the growth and organisation of commercial activities in Kano.
Until his death, Alhaji Abdulaziz remained active in community affairs, business advocacy, and public discourse, earning him widespread respect among traders, elders, and stakeholders across Northern Nigeria.

Confirming the death to ‘The Historica Nigeria’, one of his sons, Ismail Abdulaziz, said the late businessman passed away after a short illness, noting that the family remains grateful for his life and contributions to society.
“My father, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, passed away after a brief illness. We are deeply saddened by his loss, but thankful for the impact he made on his community,” he said.
According to the family, funeral prayers will be held on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at his residence in ‘Yankaba Quarters, Kano.
