
The Kano State Government has congratulated five distinguished officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces who were recently elevated to the prestigious ranks of Major General, Rear Admiral, and Air Vice Marshal.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.
The State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, described the promotions as well-deserved honours reflecting the officers’ professionalism, dedication, and patriotic service to Nigeria. Governor Yusuf expressed delight that Kano continues to produce highly accomplished individuals contributing to national security leadership at the highest level.

Nigerian Army
– Major General Sadisu Yahaya Yakasai
– Major General Sani Sulaiman
– Major General Samaila Musa Uba
Nigerian Navy
– Rear Admiral Chindo Usman Yahaya
Nigerian Air Force
– Air Vice Marshal Mukhtar Umar
Governor Yusuf commended the officers for bringing honour to Kano State and urged them to continue upholding the values of integrity, courage, loyalty, and ethical conduct as they take on greater responsibilities. He encouraged them to remain role models for younger generations aspiring to pursue careers in military service.
The governor also prayed for the officers’ continued success and divine guidance as they work to safeguard the nation.
