Mahmoud Sani Madakin Gini, a two-term Chairman of Dala Local Government Council in Kano State, has died in a tragic car accident.
According to family friend Umar Ladiyo, Madakin Gini lost his life on Monday in a crash along the Kaduna-Abuja highway. He served as chairman of the council during the administration of former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, from 2004 to 2011.
In an official statement, the current Chairman of Dala Local Government, Surajo Ibrahim Imam, announced that the funeral prayer will take place today at 5:00 p.m. at the family residence in Yelwa Quarters.

Madakin Gini was also related to Hon. Ali Madakin Gini, the House of Representatives member representing Dala Federal Constituency, who is his maternal nephew.
