Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday paid a condolence visit to Aisha Buhari, widow of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, in London.
The Vice President also met with other members of the Buhari family during the visit, offering prayers and support following the former president’s passing.
Former President Buhari died on Sunday in a London clinic after a prolonged illness. In response, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed Vice President Shettima to travel to London to condole with the family and accompany the remains back to Nigeria.

Originally scheduled to arrive in Nigeria on Monday, the body of the late president is now expected to arrive by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The burial is slated to take place at 2:00 p.m. the same day in Daura, Buhari’s hometown in Katsina State.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State disclosed the change in plans, noting that the decision was made following consultations with Buhari’s family and other close associates in London.
