The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has declared that it is not part of any political coalition being led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), reaffirming its commitment to contest future elections independently.
This stance was made clear at an expanded caucus meeting held on Sunday in Kaduna, where the party’s leadership outlined strategic plans ahead of upcoming by-elections.
The meeting, which brought together key stakeholders, including former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi, 2023 gubernatorial candidate Isa Ashiru, serving senators, and other elected officials focused on strengthening the party’s internal unity, resolving outstanding issues, and coordinating grassroots mobilization across the state.

Leaders at the meeting emphasized that the PDP remains strong and united in Kaduna and is determined to reclaim lost political ground. They also clarified that any discussions on future alliances with other parties will only take place after the party’s national convention, expected to usher in a new executive leadership.
Hon. Edward Percy Masha, the Kaduna State PDP Chairman, said the meeting also aimed to align efforts across all zones in the state to ensure that PDP candidates receive full support in the upcoming polls.
Party chieftains from all levels expressed optimism about the PDP’s trajectory and reiterated their commitment to maintaining unity, discipline, and focus as the party moves into a new election cycle.
